Image of a country road with scrubby bushes growing alongside and dark purple mountains in the distance. It is a cloudy day, indicated by wispy clouds in the sky over the mountains. The foreground is rendered primarily in browns and beiges; the background is painted in purples and blues.
Exhibited at the Indianapolis Museum of Art's exhibition "The Homecoming: American Students in Germany as Painters in Indiana, 1880-1905." The exhibition opened at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne in November 1990 and concluded at the IMA in August 1991. Exhibition catalog in curator's office.Type of Painting
