Description

1980.10.1.1 - El Deseo (Desire)(1954), Libero Badii The image depicts two unidentifiable organic shapes, one at the top and one at the bottom, both of which have a strong light source and good use of shading. At the corners of the shapes the lines/edges of the shapes often extend and cross one another. It gives the corners a twinkling feel. Signed "badii" on the verso. 18.875' x 13.875" paper. 15.25" x 11.25" image. Ed 143/500. UF 4-4. 1980.10.1.2 - El Deseo (Desire)(1954), Libero Badii Very similar to Badii's other work (1980.10.1.1). Four organic shapes--each composed of orange and blue--with circular strokes in brown sand textured tone around each work. Illegible text printed on lithography stone. "badii" is printed on the verso. 18.875" x 13.875" paper. 16.25" x 12" image size. Rack C. 1980.10.1.3 - Tema En Rectangulo (Theme in Rectangles) (1954), Jose Anton Fernandez Muro Six black rectangles, two white rectangles, and three outlines of rectangles form to create this composition. The black rectangles are set up in a comic book fashion with panels separated by white lines. The largest black rectangle is on top. Down the center of the piece diagonally, starting from the top right corner to the bottom left corner, are the three white outlined rectangles and the two solid squares. The outlined rectangles each fit within the area of a black rectangle. Signed "Fernandez Muro" on the verso. 18.875" x 13.875". 14.25" x 6.625" image. Ed. 143/500. UF 4-3. 1980.10.1.4 - Verticales (Verticals) (1954), Jose Anton Fernandez Muro Geometric image of rectangles (or blocks of color) in gray, red, white and black set against a black background. The rectangles stretch vertically and through the design there is a split in the center creating a top and a bottom section, the top being shorter. "fernandez muro" printed on the verso. 18.875" x 13.875" paper. 14" x 9.75" image. Ed. 143/500. UF 4-3. 1980.10.1.5 - Sobre Violeta (On Purple) (1954), Sarah Grilo Lavender purple rectangle with abstracted geometric shapes. The color blocks have circles inside of them--on the left are two gray rectangles with a yellow circle inside with some areas in white. In the middle is a white block with a fragmented black circle and a long narrow gray rectangle next to that. On the right are two long rectangles--a yellow one with a white rectangle inside and a half of a purple circle, and next to that a gray block. A black circle is centered between the right two blocks.".p.2" is in the lower left corner etched into the lithography stone. "Sarah Grilo" is typed on the verso. 13.875" x 18.875" paper. 10.25" x 14.75" image. Ed. 143/500.
