Description

Lithograph in black ink on off-white paper with watermark "Van Gelder Zonen." The image depicts a seated male in a chair with hands folded behind his head, and his legs are crossed leaning to the right. The man has a beard and mustache, and he is wearing a coat, shirt slacks and boots. The background is comprised of sketchy shaded areas. The print is signed in the stone with Whistler's characteristic butterfly symbol to the left of the image 2/3 up from the bottom. Sheet size: 12 7/8 x 10 1/4" Image size: 6 3/4 x 5 1/2"
