Oil on canvas depicting several buildings in a winter scene. A road begins in the immediate foreground and curves around a building out of sight in the middle ground with ruts in the snow. On the right is a green snow-covered vintage vehicle (either a car or truck). The basic color scheme is very gray with bits of color in the buildings. The building on the front left is an ochre color, center building is brown, and the buildings on the right are white. It is signed and dated "McKain -54".
The painting is framed in a heavy wooden frame painted a very light gray. On the stretcher appears, "200.00 Lumberyard". Also on the verso appears a 1955 Hoosier Salon entry tag, now removed and in the file. Two of the stretcher keys are stamped (embossed), "Fredrix Artist's Materials New York". A brass plate is also attached to the center bottom of the frame and reads, "Lumberyard in Winter Bruce McKain Anderson Civic Art Assoc."
