Description

Color lithograph on off-white paper with no watermark. Image is divided into 4 spaces with vertical white lines. Left space contains an abstract form, possibly human or animal, standing on two legs with vegetation below. The background is a multi-colored textured pattern in the bottom 1/3, above that is a white line, and the top 2/3 is a beige colored field with some droplets of red and brown. The second space contains a beige color field divided by a brown line 1/3 up with a red butterfly in the upper 1/4 surrounded by black dashed lines and droplets of red and green. The third space contains an abstract female figure in red with head in profile looking left and the body in 3/4 pose. The figure's face has make-up with lipstick and eye shadow. One hand is on her hip, and her left hand is extended upward from her elbow. A red rose and a blue feather extend from the head of the figure. The the figure is grass, one red flower and one blue flower. Droplets of gray, red, and green appear at random around the figure. The fourth space (right side) contains a similar figure with appears in the far left space. Figure stands on two legs with vegetation below. Background is multi-color texture 1/3 of the way up, white line division, and beige color field above with random droplets of brown. Evidence of off registration and droplet of green ink from plate appear along the right side of the image. It is titled in pencil "Prometheus: White Coals On The Mirror" below the image to the left numbered in pencil "5/5" below the image center, and it is signed and dated in pencil, "Brian R. Wells (19) 74 below the image to the right. Sheet size: 22 3/8 x 28 7/8" Image size: 18 x 24 5/8"
