Description

Lithograph in black ink on white paper with the watermark "Rives" in the lower right corner running vertically down. Image depicts central figure of a clown in Pierrot dress, with hands outstretched juggling six balls. Figure is standing barefoot on mat or carpet in a room with two walls on either side, with no back wall. Clouds float within the room and sky is in background. Image is surrealistic in nature. Print is signed "Grupp" in pencil along bottom edge of right wall in the image, and the print is numbered "18/100" in pencil along the bottom edge of the left wall. Verso: The letter "M" is embossed in the lower left corner, and the number "5" is written in pencil in the lower right corner. Inked fingerprints appear on the left hand edge in the middle of the sheet, probably from the original printing.
