Plate design containing insects and shrimp (?). In the center are nine different butterflies with the Monarch in the center. The center and outside are outlined in blue. The band around the center has a tan background and are filled with blue and white flowers, various insects, and three large red shapes that look like shrimp. Top writing reads "Design for a hand-painted plaque / in competition for the / Owen Jones / prizes." Label in bottom right corner stating artist's age as 19. Written on back in pencil "William John Waterson / Coalbrookdale / No 1136."
