Over the vessel and slightly to its right fly seven gulls; another gull is flying to the left of the ship. In the waters surrounding the ship, there are a number of other boats of varying sizes. In the left foreground, there is a wooden cabin of the ship that the men are standing on. Several lines are tied to it and group into the upper riggings.
