The rug was displayed in the Marx Cabin before the cabin was torn down in 2012. The rug belonged to the Marx family and was donated by them in 1986.
The rug is circular and handmade. The rug is multicolored and made up of pastel colors. There is a distinct pattern used in the weaving of the fabrics. The outer edge of the rug ends abruptly. The rug starting from the edge and following it to the center creates a swirl that goes from the outer edge to the center. The front and back are hard to tell apart, but on the back side stitching and thread can be easily seen to show which side would have to face up and which would be on the floor.
