Name/Title
White Chair from the Marx CabinEntry/Object ID
1986.FIC.1Description
This chair was once displayed in the Marx Cabin before it was torn down in 2012. Items such as this chair were used to show guests what the cabin might have looked like when it was lived in during the mid to late 1800s.
The chair is painted white with a wicker bottom for the seat. There is a decorative cloth on the back with a similar cloth pattern as padding for the seat. The cloth is of small pink flowers while the background of the cloth is brown. The entire chair structure is made from wood which has been painted entirely white. On the back side of the chair, where the back fabric is covered, there are three wood back supports that go across from the legs. The back legs and part of the back of the chair are one piece. The back of the chair posts/legs are slanted at the top, but the top of the front legs are rounded.Lexicon
