On Sunday, April 30, 1989, the Harry Duncan building had it's grand opening. It was a 10,000-square-foot building, including a proper place to store the museum collection. The new museum added 42 new exhibit cases with exhibits on Native Americans, pioneers, and county history. Exhibits were both upstairs and downstairs. Also downstairs was the genealogy room.
This flyer was used as an advertisement for the Harry F. Duncan building's grand opening. In April of 1989, this was an all-weekend event. That included burying a time capsule and a drawing for an RCA console TV. It also advertised the opening of exhibits on Mabel Duncan Dray's Kewpie Dolls and antique cars by Maurice McCarty, along with all the exhibits that had been in the Clasbey Center. The flyer also shows a map of Savannah, indicating where the museum is located.Context
