The Winter Event began in 1996 and is still a prominent fundraiser for the Andrew County Museum. Citizens, clubs, and businesses from the community come together to decorate Christmas trees. The museum has a raffle for the decorated Christmas trees and other prizes. The Winter Event has musical entertainment from local choirs, Santa Claus, and refreshments. A canned food drive is also held during this event.
The Winter Event is held at the Museum. In the center are Santa and Mrs. Claus dolls standing on a black and red sleigh that has bells on the front. On the left side, next to the sleigh, are decorated and lit Christmas trees. The sleigh is surrounded by red rope to show guests not to cross over it. The trees in the photo are on top of circles, which are either white or red. On the left side, the trees are decorated with lights and are turned on. On the left there is a larger tree with a red bow on it, and in the background are trees. In between the sled and the trees on the left is a case, and in front of it looks to be small gifts on the floor. On the far left is a desk that is decorated with fake snow, a Santa Claus doll, and a snowman. Underneath the sleigh is a white rug and behind it is a box that held one of the Christmas trees. On the left, with the tree with a white tree topper and red circle underneath it, is a Christmas gift bag also on the circle in front of the Christmas tree.
