Description

1989.008.001 Boat Type: Outboard Builder: Thompson Model: TVT Length: 13'6" Beam: 47" Date Built: 1933-1955 The Thompson Brothers Boat Manufacturing Company were builders of smallcraft from 1904 into the 1960s. They were particularly noted for building strip-built boats, and are probably best-known today for this model, the TVT (Thompson Vee Type) which was available in different sizes and configurations. In 1933 they became available with a full-length sprayrail, as this one has. Thompson stopped making the TVTs in 1955. This boat has red cedar decks, side plate oarlocks, and a red/green bow light. It is very solid, in good shape, though the finish is deteriorating. EVS 08 Notes: Built by Christopher Hayden and his son, Howard Hayden, who was the original owner of the boat. Also donated , a Johnson 10 hp engine with the boat, but not attached and a trailer also built by Christopher Hayden.
