The Antique Boat Museum is the second owner of this Old Town Otca. The donor purchased the canoe in the fall of 1968 shortly after returning from service in the US Army in Vietnam. The folks at the Old Town factory gave Ed a great tour and introduced him to some of the skilled craftsmen who steamed the ribs and others whose skill built this superb canoe. It was unpainted when he arrived so Ed spent a couple enjoyable days in Old Town. It was covered with fiberglass (at the Old Town factory) and was equipped with a sail, leeboards, and a rudder. Ed planned to use it in lakes, rivers, and occasionally in the Barnegat Bay. It provided Ed’s family with a great deal of pleasure over the years. This Otca is now part of the Antique Boat Museum’s Educational Fleet.Acquisition
