Description

Inboard engine, Lycoming, s/n UA2-2.61R Lycoming UA 1974.002 The smallest engine in the Lycoming line, the UA is an in-line four-cylinder flathead, 3 1/8 by 3 7/8. Literature from Lycoming company of the year 1934 shows three different models, UAB, UAC, and UAD. This is serial number UA2261R, so it is simply a UA. This engine was available in 12 volt single coil or 6 volt double coil, this one is a single. It is an updraft intake, but it is missing its carburetor. Approximately 40 horsepower. On the end of this engine, where the flywheel should be , is an interesting apparatus which looks like the rotor from a generator with all the wires removed, as if there was a motor-generator built onto the end of this engine at the factory.
