Description

Inboard engine, Chris-Craft Chris-Craft Corporation, based in Algonac, MI, built this Model K, six cylinder engine with a down draft carburetor. One of the most popular 1920-30's engines for small boats and runabouts. Their ads said, "You're at home in any water.... in any weather....in any port with a Chris-Craft." And in 1936 they also claimed to be, "the world's largest builder of motor boats in the only plant that manufactures everything from the marine engine to the mast." These engines were also very popular abroad. With one exception, these were not Chris-Craft built, but were converted tractor engines. The same engine in "Long Rock II" and this one were restored by John Clark.
