Description

Outboard engine, Elto Speedster, 1929, 2 cyl, 11 HP, s/n 83192H The Super Elto Speedster 302 64.063 A large, off-set opposed twin from 1929, 11 horsepower. Starts with a knob-crank, which must be challenging. This engine uses an ignition coil fed from a six-volt battery in the boat, rather than an on-board magneto. The coil is located in a bakelite tube in the front, just above the carburetor, and appears sound. The carburetor is in front, with the fuel line valve at the carb end rather than just below the gas tank. Cooling water is picked up behind the propeller and discharged through the exhaust. This engine is missing its tiller handle, gas cap, and all labels. The tank is dry but it turns over with moderate compression.
