Description

Elto Super Speedster (Quad) outboard motor, 1928 This engine produced 18 HP at 4000 RPM. It has a pair of poppet valve carburetors: a valve that moves into and from its seat, often cam-driven and spring-loaded for a rapid repeating popping action. This was the first quad produced, and it was the first time covers were available to protect spark plugs. Porter Collection
