1963 West Bend Commodore
While better known as America’s leading maker of kitchenware and small appliances, the West Bend Aluminum Company was also a major manufacturer of outboard motors. The majority of West Bend’s motors were sold in catalog stores such as Sears. The West Bend Commodore was primarily distributed via small retailers such as hardware stores and small engine shops not in the marine business. 95% of West Bend Commodores were purchased by people more interested in fishing than outboarding.Collection
