Description

ca. 1962 Bundy outboard motor While it was only sold for a few years, this Italian import played a notable role in early 1960s US outboard boating paving the way for later imports such as Yamaha. Sometime around 1960, Bundy Tubing Company took over from the Lionel Corporation a share in an outboard motor project in development by the Innocenti Corporation of Milan, Italy (manufacturer of Lambretta scooters). Bundy Marine was incorporated as the US distributor for the Italian motors. Designed by Tom Tjaarda, the Bundy motor was reported to have been styled by famous Italian industrial designer, Karmann Ghia.
