Johnson Sea Horse VE-50 1988.035.002
A large, sophisticated Johnson from 1930. Four opposed cylinders of an off-set arrangement, unusual for Johnson, producing twenty-six horsepower. Includes the innovative compression-release charger and rotary valve. Also unusual for Johnson is the induction coil ignition, dual induction coils are housed inside a metal box mounted on the front of the engine. This motor is also equipped with a six-volt Dynajet 873 motor generator / starter (serial # KB2454), very uncommon in 1930. Fairly standard controls include throttle adjutsment by cable and choke as well by cable, hi and low richness adjustment by screw driver. Spark advance also controlled by a push-pull cable, no tiller handle but several different places for steerign cable attachement. Water circulation system Johnson standard, in through vent behind propeller and out through vent in front, both at the top of rotation. All aluminum block, iron cylinders. Unable to turn because of motor generator.Collection
