Description

Outboard engine, Evinrude SpeediFour Evinrude Speedifour 1988.035.018 This is a big heavy four-cylinder engine that Evinrude made for a number of years. It was originally designed in 1939, records indicate this one is from 1949. A magneto ignition opposed four-cylinder, producing a maximum of 33 horsepower. This was Evinrude's direct competitor to the Johnson big 50 cubic-inch Sea Horse, which came out in 1939 as well and produced slightly more horsepower but was not as fast as the Speedifour. The standard controls are present on this engine such as choke on the front and throttle by twisting a collar on the tiller handle. Spark advance is in its usual place with a kill button on the handle. All aluminum encased. Rope start, water cooled. Missing its fuel line. 140 pounds.
