Description

Outboard engine, Sears Water Witch SN: S42250 Water Witch found in PP 88.035.045 A one-cylinder, single-tank version of the Sears Water Witch. The earlier, Loewy-designed two-tank Water Witch (see acc. no. 1989.034.001) proved unreliable, and the two tanks were combined, though Loewy's basic aesthetic is preserved. Built for Sears by the Kissel Company. Throttle and ignition control through a slot in the front. Two knobs in front, gas shut off and richness adjustment. Aluminum block. A horizontal fin above the propeller apparently broke off in the move from Bartlett Point to the Doebler building.
