Description

Outboard engine, Elto Super Elto Light Twin 96.001.001 Medium-size opposed twin of the off-set variety, crank-starts with a knob rather than a rope. Front-mounted carburetor has a direct, counter-clockwise numbered richness adjustment and throttle. This engine is meant to stay fixed straight and be steered by its own rudder, which is connected to a T-bar with pulleys on either side to recieve steering ropes or cables leading forward to a wheel. There are two intakes for cooling water in the rudder near the top and bottom of the propeller rotation. Water is fed into the bottom of the cylinders where it is heated and forced by convection as well as pressure from the propeller out the top of the cylinder and down to coiled tubes which end just at the waterline, where the water is discharged. Exhaust is discharged underwater. The tank is dry but the engine turns freely, compression is difficult to determine as there are no spark plugs. All labels present and in readable condition. Missing one thumb-screw.
