Description

Outboard engine, Propulsion Research Jet P-500 Propulsion Research Inc. Starling Jet P-500 85.014.003 [number listed as 1985.014] At 1940, this is a very early jet-drive outboard, two horsepower. Probably a prototype, since it has no branding or decorative attributes of any kind. The motor is a one-cylinder horizontally firing, with standard richness and idle adjustments, and choke. Fuel line hook up in front. The drive unit is a water jet, which draws water through a perforated cage in the front, bottom, and even back of the unit, and blows it out of two holes in the back above the cage.
