Description

Outboard engine, Sears Water Witch. Date from Bill Loveland 1-2-06. #7 on exhibit map. Sears Water Witch 57-10 1989.034.001 An early Water Witch with two gas tanks, designed by Raymond Loewy and built by the Kissel Company for Sears. One cylinder horizontal. This engine has two gas tanks for purely aesthetic reasons, giving the engine a modern, streamlined appearance, a feature which was later discarded as it negatively affected the performance of the motor. Later Water Witches did retain the basic double-torpedo shape, however. Two horsepower, throttle and ignition in the front, richness below. Rope start.
