Description

1910 20' 6" Chestnut Canoe launch with St. Lawrence Engine Co. 2HP engine, 6 rattan chairs, paddles, and original Canadian flag The launch has a long history with one family (the Simpsons) spanning three generations beginning in 1919. She was used primarily during family vacations in Whitney, Ontario. During World War II vacations were put on hold. The second generation started using the launch in 1952, however, the boathouse flooded. With a lot of work, the launch was back on the lake in 1955. After that she was put in storage in 1961 while the family worked on alternative ways to launch her as it was difficult to move her around. The third generation decided in 1983 to bring the launch back to life when they discovered dry rot in the hull. The launch was completely restored and ready to use in 1985. She was the winner of ABM's 1985 Antique Boat Show in the Power Skiff/Canoe class.
