Description

Launch "Wild Goose" Signature boat for the Antique Boat Museum. When Cleveland E. Dodge gave his Hutchinson Brothers-built high speed launch the name "Wild Goose" in 1928, it had been on the St. Lawrence for 13 years. Other than a few changes of engines from a 150 HP Sterling to the present Chrysler V-8, it did not require major restoration until 1990. Milton Carnegie of Grindstone Island replaced the transom, dash board, keel, forward frames and only one topside board.. Wild Goose is owned in partnership with Cleveland E. Dodge, Jr. and the ABM. (Note as of 7/2008, Wild Goose has been fully donated to ABM). 8/1/2012 - After much deliberation and investigation into the WG files, EVS and LAN have decided that the boat was built in 1915, not 1914 as is variously reported. Sounds like it was built over the winter, which means it would have first gotten wet in 1915. This, henceforth, is the ABM official answer to the question of when the boat was built.
