Dr. Arthur F. Ashe,
710 Boulevard East
Corner Highwood Terrace,
Weehaken, N. J.
Dear Dr. Ash:
We have your letter of Aug. 16th. relative to your boat.
We did not find any thing serious with your motor except the generator. We had to put in a new Armature as the old one was burnt out.
We ground the valves, put in a new set of points etc.
It ran very good after this was done.
We returned the boat back to Merciers after the job was completed as we were instructed by them to bring the boat back there as you would call for it there.
However, if you would rather have it here we will go and get it and bring it back down.
We are attaching our bill amounting to $36.20 covering this work.
Thanking you for this business and hope to hear from your further, we are,
Very truly yours,
Fitzgerald & Lee, Inc.

The collection was donated to the Alexandria Township Historical Society. Fitzgerald & Lee were prominent boat builders of the area from 1920-1942, building custom boats and selling Gar Wood boats. The museum holds several Fitzgerald & Lee built boats in its permanent collection.Collection
