Fitzgerald & Lee,
Alexandria Bay,
New York, New York.
Dear Sirs:
I have just been wondering what condition you found the boat in. While I will probably not be using the boat this summer, I am interested in what had to be done to the engine.
My two sons are spending the summer in Gananoque and since they are living in a tent, have no place to shelter the boat. Therefore, I do not want them to use it this summer. So, if they should call for it, my orders are for you to tell them that they are not supposed to have it. without a written order from me.
Very sincerely yours,
A. F. Ash

The Fitzgerald & Lee collection was discovered in 2014, in the attic space of what used to be the Fitzgerald & Lee business offices. The collection was donated to the Alexandria Township Historical Society. Fitzgerald & Lee were prominent boat builders of the area from 1920-1942, building custom boats and selling Gar Wood boats. The museum holds several Fitzgerald & Lee built boats in its permanent collection.Collection
