Letter to Fitzgerald & Lee from Lisle R. Beardslee Transcription: Lisle R. Beardslee 1775 Broadway New York, N. Y. January 24, 1941 Dear Fitz, Thanks for your letter of the 21st. I was very greatly disappointed not to see you at the Motor Boat Show. I had a very busy week, having been called to Washington on Monday afternoon; I flew from Washington to Detroit and, after spending two days in Detroit, went to Toronto and stopped at Rochester on my way home, reaching New York on Friday morning. I immediately called the Gar Wood booth, but found you had just left for home. Everything is all right so far as we are concerned, and I shall look forward to seeing you in the Spring. Context

The Fitzgerald & Lee collection was discovered in 2014, in the attic space of what used to be the Fitzgerald & Lee business offices. The collection was donated to the Alexandria Township Historical Society. Fitzgerald & Lee were prominent boat builders of the area from 1920-1942, building custom boats and selling Gar Wood boats. The museum holds several Fitzgerald & Lee built boats in its permanent collection.

The Fitzgerald & Lee collection is held at the Cornwall Brothers Store Museum in Alexandria Bay, NY. Due to mutual interests in the substance and context of the collection, the ABM digitized the collection to be able to use the materials for internal exhibit purposes.
