Dear Friend Fitzgerald
Sorry to miss saying goodbye but I left it with Alvin and said I'd write. I had so much on my mind and my mind is not so large.
I had to store my brother's boat and my skiff so I asked Kinsley Hunt, one of my employees, to drive my fishing boat around the island to Geo Hunt's boathouse, second employee, giving me room. Kinsley will care for the batteries and all my pump and plumbing. He is very skillful. Charlie Moore, a painter by trade, my third employee, will paint and varnish my boats. He does all of Ed Noble's etc and has no overhead to pay. Art Munk, my fourth employee, is rebuilding my dock, much to the satisfaction of Radley, as we have no finished lumber on our island yet. Someday James Gimbrede may have a mill.
I like the idea of the bigger motors but cannot bring myself to promising for next spring. The war will undoubtedly cut dividends severely. I may sell boats. I'll keep your prices and see you later.
With kindest regards to Mrs. Fitzgerald, Alvin & yourself.
I remain sincerely Francis J. O'BrienCollection
