Hayden Transcription: 706 East Broad St. Columbus, Ohio Fitzgerald & Lee Alexandria Bay New York Gentlemen: I am writing you about the motorboat "Simplex" of which I am the owner. The boat is at present stored in the Burtch Boat Works in the lower bay. I put the obat on sale this spring or at least supposed it had been put on sale but I have not been able to get any reply of any sort from Kenneth Burtch to four different letters I have written and one telegram I have sent him. You can understand that I am somewhat at a loss to know what he has done toward attempting to sell the boat. I do not know if you are familiar with the boat or not but you can get all of the particulars from Emery Slate,Jr. Although the engine (28-32 Red Wing I believe), about six years old it has only been used for two summers. What I would like to have you do page 2 is sell the boat for me. The price is have set is $225 net. I did not tell Burtch to put the boat in commission this spring but the only thing needed is varnishing. Of course it is rather awkward to change from Burtch over to you since the boat is at his place. I suppose you would want the boat over at your works or in your boat slips. What would you suggest? I am sue the boat can be easily sold but I have not had much satisfaction from Burtch. I would appreciate very much hearing from you at an early date. Peter H.
