Letter to Fitzgerald & Lee, Inc. from William H. Linkroum Transcription: [Letterhead Kenilworth Lodge Sebring Florida] March 3/36 Dear Mr. Fitzgerald: Your newsie letter came this morning and everything noted. I will be very glad to work with you along the lines you suggested providing you and Mr. Lee have carefully thought out the matter of finishing the new boat in ample time to sell. Judging from your letter you have considerable work ahead to finish her. Lyon's cruiser and you have lots of work ahead just as soon as the ice goes our besides the always busy tie of spring repairs and fitting out. It would seem to me you have about all you can handle and do well. It would be a mistake to start the boat and find you had to delay finishing it or you had to hurry and not make the good job you propose, in short it seems to me it is too late to start. Only not delay another year and in the mean time you may have an opportunity of selling the motor to advantage. Another thought, if you do not sell the motor by mid summer when you start to run page 2 [Kenilworth Lodge letterhead] into your slack season it would be a good time to start the hull and work on it at opportune times next summer late, the fall and winter. No job is good unless carefully done from start to finish. A poor job, and I mean one that must be constantly running back to the shop for this that and the other thing is the worst advertising a concern casn do. Customers do not accept apologies or excuses, they just want results. What do you figure the hull would cost finished, complete? Think this over carefully and let me know at Hackensack where I will be on the 7th. Be sure to arrange things so Capt. Lee can paint his boat soon as possible. I expect, health permitting,t come p for a few days soon as th eice goes out early in April. Very glad indeed to hear the new season holds so many promises,. My best regards to all, Yours very truly, W.H. Linkroum
