Dear Mr. Fitzgerald:
Yours of the 10th at hand and I am very sorry to say it will be impossible for me to finance a new boat as you suggest at this time. As you are no doubt aware business has taken a terrible "nose dive" and everyone around New York, the financial center of the country, is alarmed and unable to do anything about it. There have been heavy losses in investments and I am no exception so all in all I must watch my step carefully. In short, I have no ready cash to loan. Coming at any other time when fear did not grip the business man and the investor i would be only to glad to accommodate.
I think the idea of building a boat of the type of the W.H.L. is a good one and no doubt Mrs. Butnet will be interested in fact probably would buy. Bear in mind however Mrs. Burnet is quite an elderly lady. Regardless of Mrs. Burnet's interest and business conditions I feel you should have no difficulty selling a boat of this type providing you can keep the cost down and have it ready for delivery by June 15th.
We leave for the south Jan 4th so I will miss the motor boat show. Mr. Williams[?] will be

on deck and will be very happy to attend I am sure. You can reach him at the above address [Linkroum's letterhead]. I will be interested in having all the details about the new 22 foot runabout.
I have been reading about the cold and snow you have been having and I would enjoy seeing it, from a Florida view point only however.
My best regards to Mr. Lee and yourself and best wishes for a Happy Holiday season and good business at the show.
Yours very truly,
W,H. Lindroum
