St. Lawrence skiff model made by Jim Kincaid. Thousands of skiffs of this type were built in Clayton, NY by A. Bain and Company. They were 14 to 22 feet in length. This is a 14 foot ladies model for causal rowing and occasional fishing. This miniature skiff is cherry and basswood. Its lines and construction are faithful to drawings, photos, and various St. Lawrence River skiffs in the collection of the Museum.Acquisition
