Arina is a reproduction of a Rushton Iowa rowboat. The Iowa model is lighter, shorter, and deeper than a St. Lawrence River Skiff. ABM students built this craft with instruction from Dan Sutherland and Joe Youcha, in 1999. This “One Week Wonder” was constructed by eight students. In seven days time, they managed to assemble all pre-milled pieces into a boat. A launching took place at the week's end with tacky varnish left on the seats of their pants. Dan completed the finishing work at his shop.Collection
