NA2011.013Description
Electra was built by Aaron Turner at the Antique Boat Museum through funds provided by Bill Kaiser. Electra is a reproduction of Addie, the 1911 L.E. Fry skiff putt in ABM’s permanent collection. The “skiff putt” is a natural evolution from the rowing skiff that came with the availability of small inboard engines. Early skiff putts were designed more or less the same way that traditional skiffs had been, double-ended with almost the same profile and proportions, scaled up for the motor. A team of volunteers installed the current Elco electric motor in 2013-2014.Acquisition
