1922 Old Town "Canvas-Covered, double-ended boat", dark green hull, serial #68324. with one pair oars, patent oarlocks.
Original advertisement states (paraphrased): the canvas covering keeps out water, one does not need to first swell the wood to make the hull water tight. Made from cedar ribs and planking, makes light to carry. Width and flatness of floor assures steadiness. The depth gives ample capacity and freeboard. It's a good practical, comfortable, family boat... Paddles can be used as well as oars. The shallow draft offers exceedingly slight resistance to the water, making it an easy boat for women and children to handle. Ideal for fishing. Regular equipment includes: Rudder, 4 seats, 2 back rests, 1 pair swivel Rowlocks attached, 1 extra pair Sockets attached, Keel and Outside stems. Stock color dark green. 1930 original cost: $93 or $83 depending on grade.
