Description

Boat Type: St. Lawrence Skiff Builder: Robert Huck Length: 16' 8" Beam: 45" Date Built: 1973 This St. Lawrence Skiff is relatively modern, probably made in the last 50 years. It is somewhat crude in construction, all clinch-nailed with only one nail between each set of ribs. The ribs are wide and square, and the plank joints are not tight, probably as a result of the scarcity of clinch-nails. It is in good shape, complete and with an adequate finish. EVS 08 Robert Huck was an apprentice of Mr. Andress of Andress Boatworks, Rockport, ON. The original mold for this particular skiff was purchased by Dale Stoughtenger of Schermerhorn Landing, Hammond, NY. Dale Stoughtenger made fiberglass skiffs from the mold.
