Description

2005.007 "Miss Climb Aboard" Type: Utility Builder: Century Model: Resorter Hull #: 47JD43 Length: 17' Power: 6 cylinder 125 gray marine engine Restored by Museum volunteers in 2007 in Museum's Stone Building where demonstrations in boat building and wood working took place on it, now called "Miss Climb Aboard". 17 1/2' Resorter is featured in ad from Feb. 1947 issue of "Motor Boating." Ad states that there were initally seven motor options that range in speeds from 31mph - 44mph. (Comments from Chris Johnson, ACBS judge) The flooring should be linoleum; however, the pale blue linoleum is wrong. The upholstery looks original. My belief is that it is just old for I have never seen blue upholstery in an old Century, or seat bottoms like those. The engine is a 104 Gray. It is the wrong color and the plug wipes are wrong. The hinges should not be on the motor box. Much of her hardware is wrong: * vents on bow deck * flagpole holder in middle of bow deck * Three fender cleats on each side * Stern pole is from a Shepherd * Throttle belongs on the floor. * There should not be vents in the hatch.
