Broadside in "Terra Firma" Folio "Luck George Scarbrough "'I've had bad look,' my sister said. Pronouncing "luck" as if she faced herself in a glass and commented on her own appearance. "all of my life I've had bad look." She touched her burnt, stringy hair, the hot spike still smoking, rag--wrapped, in her hand. Nondescript, straight as a stick her hair was, stubborn in its refusal to curl. "I'm as ugly as a man," she said. "You look the girl, pretty as any woman." It was, I knew, true. If it had been possible that day, I would have given Edith my smooth, high-colored face and the tumultuous wealth of my down dark, coiling hair."Type of Print
