Square built-up stair newel post with extremely elaborate, carved leaf motifs on all four sides near top and bottom. Semi-sherical shaped top surrounded by ornament to form sculpted capital. Sides have recessed panels. Made of oak, secondary wood of cedar. Remnants of dark varnish - mostly stripped.
