Elaborate niche with recessed arched opening and rectangular panels on front. Applied moldings. Spindle work. Niche back is half cylindrical with curved panels. Inside niche is copper pan. Probably for planter??? (Evidence of use as umbrella holder.) Niche is made of oak ,varnished. Secondary wood is soft wood. Varnished.
