Description

Cast Iron. Painted white. Hinged coal shute door. Handle missing. Has receptacle for coal with sides and sloping bottom. Open back. Front of door has recessed panel with embossed classic revival decoration. and attached square green glazed and embossed botanical design motif tile (set in diamond shaped frame within door). Cast iron frame for door has three embossed diamond shaped decorations within a rectangle at bottom. Frame is broken and has later steel repair. Frame bolted onto back. Rectangular opening to fit door. Inscriptions or Markings: Manufacturer: Place of Manufacturer: England? Design motif: Botanical. Style: Classical Revival. Finish: Painted.
