Ceramic commemorative plate with image of Zion Congregational Church (building is located at NE 9th & Fremont in Portland). Text inscription reads "Zion Congregational Church United Church of Christ Portland, Oregon 1914 - 1964". Bottom of plate inscription reads " 1914 - 1964 Zion Congregational Church came into existence through the efforts of a group of Christian men and women of German back-ground. The first pastor was Rev. John H. Hopp, who served the church for 22 years. Since his retirement, the church has been served by 7 very able pastors, including the present Rev. Raymond Schatz. In 1960, the church body voted to become affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Sponsored by the Ladies Aid Society." Plate is also marked with "Eggshell Theme Homer Laughlin Made in USA".
