Description

Cast iron capital ornaments. Originally installed on Abington Building front facade, fifth floor columns. Includes one lot of ten acanthus motif ornaments with volutes. Four segments bolt together to form complete capital. Includes one cap section which mounts at top of capital and rests on column (16 x 15.5 x 2.5). Five capital ornaments have been cut to fit around window opening. One ornament has been repainted blue. See 1988.11.2 column. Front and sides are painted with multiple layers of paint, original finish appears to be sand texturized to simulate beige sandstone.
