Cast iron capital. Originally installed on Abington Building front facade, second or fourth floor.
Hollow block with sloping top, below which is molded cove and beaded ornamentation.
Applied ornaments bolted on front are incomplete. Central motif is missing. Has botanical motif volutes symmetrically arranged and repeated at each side of capital.
Ornaments attached with modern replacement bolts.
Originally there were sixteen capitals of this type and size. This is one of seven extant.
Front and sides painted with multiple layers of paint, original finish appears to be sand texturized to simulate beige sandstone. Finish has been stripped from applied ornaments, but remains on main block.
