Revista Cómicos was an Editorial Pablo de la Torriente title (launched 1985, monthly). A reader recalls "Kombey el Samurai" among the features of the magazine Cómicos and laments that it disappeared with the Special Period. The publisher of these 1988 Cómicos issues is recorded as Pablo de la Torriente Brau. An issue of "Revista Comicos … No 8/1988" is catalogued with publisher Pablo de la Torriente Brau, publication year 1988, in Spanish, black-and-white.

Kombey el Samurai is a Cuban historieta character. In the 1960s ¡Aventuras! line, Kombey was drawn by Luis Lorenzo and often scripted by Juan Padrón. The character was revived in Cómicos in the 1980s.
