Molded plastic shower curtain hook cast as a seahorse in profile. The head, with crested brow and tubular snout, sits at the upper left; the body descends in an S-curve to a tail that coils forward into a closed loop at lower center. From the dorsal line a broad plain arc sweeps up and around to the right, terminating in a free blunt tip, enclosing an open circular field. The arc is the suspension hook, passing over the curtain rod; the coiled tail loop takes the curtain grommet.
Decoration is molded in relief on the visible face: a ringed eye with central dot, hatching along the snout and cheek, a wavy line at the neck, and a regular grid of lozenge and rectangular scale cells running the length of body and tail, diminishing toward the tip. Surface is dark brown-black with pronounced iridescent flashes of pink, green, gold and bronze, finely speckled. Molded lines catch light as pale gold against the darker ground. A raised bead along the outer edge of the hook arc reads as a mold parting line.Use
